City reminds residents of parking restrictions for 2010 Holiday Card Photo Shoot

In advance of the 2010 City of Naperville holiday card photo shoot taking place at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, the city reminds residents to be aware of parking restrictions in place throughout the downtown in relation to the Hometown Holidays event.

Certain parking restrictions will be in effect downtown just prior to and during the Hometown Holidays event and Friends of Little Friends electric light parade. A color-coded map of those restrictions is available at www.naperville.il.us/hometownholidays.aspx. The map requires Adobe Acrobat to view. Please plan ahead and make note of streets in the downtown that have parking and tow zone restrictions prior to visiting the downtown for the holiday card photo shoot. Look for signs that will be posted indicating areas that are designated no-parking and tow zones.

All city parking decks will be open for parking on Friday. Real time parking availability is posted at the entrances to the Central Parking Facility and the Van Buren Parking Deck and is also available online on the city's website at www.naperville.il.us/downtownparking.aspx and available in a mobile friendly version. For a full list of downtown parking, visit www.naperville.il.us/downtownparking.aspx.

Mayor A. George Pradel has invited Naperville residents to take part in this year's holiday card by participating in a community photo shoot at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 26 at the base of the Millennium Carillon, located near Rotary Hill at 443 W. Aurora Ave. Participants will be grouped together and photographed to spell out the word “Peace.” As a reminder to participants, please plan to arrive at the Carillon at 1:30 p.m. For more information, or to see a map of how the photo shoot will be arranged, visit www.naperville.il.us/2010holidaycard.aspx.
