Scouting: Eastern Illinois @t Loyola
Eastern Illinois (0-2) at Loyola (3-0)
When: 7 p.m. at Gentile Center
TV: Channel 56; Radio: WAUR 930-AM, WNTD 950-AM, WWCA 1270-AM
Skinny: After claiming the first Nick Kladis Classic title over the weekend, the Ramblers shoot for their first 4-0 start in five years. Loyola was so dominant, it claimed five of the six spots on the all-tournament team led by MVP Walt Gibler (15.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg). The Ramblers have five guys averaging double figures, but more impressive is the opponents' .380 field-goal percentage. Eastern Illinois is pegged to finish third in the Ohio Valley, but the Panthers suffered a pair of double-digit losses to open the year. Junior point guard Jeremy Granger (Elgin HS) leads the Panthers with 13.5 points, 6 rebounds and 2.5 assists. EIU's bench isn't nearly as deep as Loyola's, so look for Ramblers coach Jim Whitesell to exploit that.
