DePaul names court in honor of coach Doug Bruno
DePaul's Doug Bruno became the third Division I women's basketball coach to have a court named in their honor Saturday night.
Bruno is entering his 25th season in charge of the Blue Demons and joins Tennessee's Pat Summitt and North Carolina State's Kay Yow as the only coaches to have that tribute.
He has 458 wins at DePaul and has guided the Blue Demons to the NCAA tournament the last eight seasons.
Among the few hundred guests in attendance for the ceremony was Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma. The two have been friends for years and Bruno served as an assistant coach for Auriemma on the U.S. women's national basketball team that won gold at the world championship last month.
