Geneva chamber to host awards night

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Awards Night will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd. in Geneva.

This year, Geneva Chamber of Commerce, will welcome Sam Glenn, The Attitude Guy,™ speaking and being sponsored by Comcast Business Class. Sam will captivate the audience through a unique blend of inspiration, humor and art. Sam has entertained and inspired audiences all over the country in nearly every industry, from corporations to associations to educational groups.

The annual dinner will also recognize members who have made special contributions to the chamber by presenting President, Ambassador and Spirit Awards to individuals and businesses. The prestigious Wood Community Service Award winner will also be revealed at the dinner. Each year the Wood Award is presented by the Geneva chamber to an individual who has made significant community contributions in the areas of business, education, youth involvement, civic organizations, arts, recreation, charity or government.

The award is named in honor of Bill and Elise Wood and Nell and Burt Wood. These four individuals contributed to the growth and health of the city of Geneva, and William C. Wood was the first recipient of the award in 1985.

Dinner tickets are $45 per person. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner at 6:30 and award presentations.
