Human remains found in East Alton
EAST ALTON — Authorities in East Alton are investigating after a worker clearing trees and brush from some property found human remains.
East Alton Police Chief Dwynn Isringhausen says his officers were called to the Olin Corp. property Thursday and confirmed the presence of human remains.
The (Alton) Telegraph reports that law enforcement officials spent most of the day searching nearly three acres of land for more remains. Cadaver dogs were brought in to help with the search.
Officials say there's no word yet on the identity of the remains.
