Northern Illinois beats Cardinal Stritch 81-57

DE KALB — Xavier Silas scored 34 points Sunday to lead Northern Illinois to an 81-57 victory over Cardinal Stritch.

Silas, the only NIU player in double figures for the game, scored 22 of his points in the first half as the Huskies (1-2) built a 48-35 halftime edge. Silas, who played 24 minutes, finished 11-of-17 from the field, making six of his nine 3-point attempts, and was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Brandon D'Amico led Cardinal Stritch with 15 points. Pat Barron added 14 points for the Wolves, who play in NAIA.
