Scouting report: Chicago St. at DePaul

Chicago St. (1-0) at DePaul (0-0)

When: 5 p.m. Sunday at McGrath Arena

TV: Channel 56

Radio: WSCR 670-AM

The skinny: The dawning of the Oliver Purnell Era coincides with former DePaul assistant Tracy Dildy making his head-coaching debut against a Division I foe. Dildy's Cougars opened Friday night with a 79-76 win over Division III Concordia (which is coached by former DePaul assistant Tyler Jones). The Blue Demons have just 10 scholarship players and just one healthy senior, so every game is going to be a learning process. Be sure to pay attention to DePaul's variety of pressure defenses, which are designed to force turnovers by the bushel. Freshman Brandon Young will share the ball and the backcourt with junior Jeremiah Kelly. Chicago State's Carl Montgomery went over the 1,000-point mark during the Concordia win.
