Learn more about leg pain at screenings

You can attend free screenings and seminars this month on leg pain and how it may indicate Peripheral Arterial Disease.

Learn the symptoms and treatments available for this condition that if left untreated can result in serious complications.

Symptoms and risk factors of PAD also include: leg cramps when walking that go away with rest; foot or toe pain that disturbs your sleep; wounds on the feet or toes that are slow to heal; smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol levels; over age 50.

Learn more and get screened; two dates and locations available. 7 a.m. to noon. Saturday, Oct. 9. The screening is from 7 to 9 a.m., lecture is at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to noon are screenings.

Appointments are every 15 minutes and breakfast will be available during screenings. The screenings will be at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, 77 N. Airlite St., Elgin, presented by Dr. David Bromet, cardiologist.

The second date is 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, with lecture at 9 a.m. and screenings every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to noon at Provena Family Care Huntley, 12155 Regency Pkwy., Huntley, Right off Route 47, presented by Dr. Dean, Katsamakis, cardiologist.
