Kudos for staff at Beebe School

Congress has declared each October to be National Disability Employment Awareness Month. At this time of year, we who have loved ones with disabilities are especially grateful to the organizations and businesses that hire them.

These employers are forward-thinking and are focused on positive outcomes, growth, and success. One of Naperville's best examples of this is Beebe Elementary School. At Beebe they have hired disabled people, worked with them and their job coaches, provided an encouraging atmosphere and high expectations, and have, in return, acquired dependable, hard-working, and optimistic employees.

The entire staff at Beebe School (with special mention of Rik Nelson, head custodian; Chuck Sharp, custodian; Laura Warren, teacher, and Elizabeth Martinez, principal) deserve recognition and appreciation not only for providing an excellent elementary education environment, but also for providing the kind of support that enables all people to succeed.
