GOP has duty to help unemployed
Unemployment seems to be a problem that will not go away soon. President Obama and Congress have managed to battle down the unemployment rate to 9.6 percent by using stimulus money to create jobs.
For those 9.6 percent who are still searching for employment, the government planned to extend the unemployment benefits that expire on Nov. 30. But now that the Republicans have won a majority in Congress, they are planning to vote against extending unemployment benefits. Surely the government has a duty to help the unemployed avoid homelessness until the economy turns around?
