Itasca Oktoberfest 5K set for Saturday

The Itasca Knights of Columbus, Itasca Lions Club and Itasca Runners Club presents the second annual Oktoberfest 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Usher Park, at Irving Park Road and Walnut Street, Itasca.

Registration and packet pickup is from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit Marklund, a not-for-profit organization that provides care for infants, children and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities.

The 5K course is USATF-certified and is a neighborhood route through Itasca with a downhill finish into Usher Park. There will be awards for top three men and women finishers and in age group categories, and T-shirts for all participants. The post race party includes awards, live music, beer and brats.

The race entry fee is $25 in advance, $30 on race day. For details or to register, visit itasca5K.org.
