Exchange Club Foundation announces grants

The Exchange Club Foundation for the Prevention of Child Abuse in Lake County is proud to announce that it has awarded $15,000 in grants this year. Supported by the Gurnee Breakfast, Gurnee Noon, Grayslake, Round Lake and the Waukegan Exchange Clubs, the Foundation has awarded over $150,000 in grants over the past decade in Lake County. For the 2009-10 grant application, the foundation and clubs updated the grant criteria to focus exclusively on programs that best promote parent education and public information that directly prevent child abuse and neglect.

The recipients of the grants this year include the following agencies and programs:

One Hope United: $3,000, Protecting Children, Strengthening Families Program.

Catholic Charities: $3,000, Child abuse prevention services to woman at Samaritan house.

CYN: $3,000, Living In Families Effectively (LIFE) Program.

NICASA: $3,000, Parent Empowerment Program.

Big Brothers/ Big Sisters: $3,000, Prevention Services.
