Teens charged in robbery

Three Waukegan teenagers were charged in connection with the robbery and battery of a 19-year-old Waukegan man at Gurnee Mills on Wednesday, police said.

The victim stated he was making a purchase at a food court near Entry J when he was approached by the suspects about 8:39 p.m., police said. He went to a restroom and the three suspects followed him inside.

Police said they confronted him regarding some stolen video game and computer equipment. The victim denied taking the items, police said, but the suspects punched and kicked him. The victim's wallet with $5 cash and miscellaneous cards, wireless telephone and keys were taken. A witness contacted police and the suspects were located in a mall parking lot and taken into custody.

The wallet was later recovered by a security officer in a trash can outside the mall near Entry J. Charged with robbery and aggravated battery were Quincy R. Minor, 17, Devord I. Page. Minor and Page were charged as adults.

A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody and released to his foster parents. He is being referred to Lake County Juvenile Court for robbery and aggravated battery.
