Update: The Pistons opened the season with a fourth-quarter collapse at New Jersey. They led 95-88 with 1:39 remaining, then gave up 11 straight points and 101-98. Detroit played its home opener Friday against Oklahoma City. The Pistons had seven players in double figures against the Nets, led by Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey with 14 points each. Ex-Bull Ben Gordon hit 5-of-6 shots for 12 points off the bench. Tracy McGrady went scoreless in 13 minutes, while top draft pick Greg Monroe did not play.
