The Corsairs came through after their long bus ride to Marist two weeks ago, and now they'll try to duplicate the effort in Chicago Heights. Marian Catholic has won five straight after a season-opening loss to Homewood-Flossmoor. Coach Dave Mattio's Spartans average 27.8 points and allow 21 per game. They're led offensively by RB Jerel Taylor, who rushed for 209 yards and 4 TDs on 27 carries against Crete-Monee. ... Carmel's triple-option attack has produced an ESCC-best 243 points (40.5 per game) and features FB Jordan Kos (858 rushing yds., 9 TDs), RB Michael Panico (521 yds., 6 TDs, 1 receiving TD) and QB Brian Serio (331 rushing yds., 5 TDs).
