Harris will help get state on track

I have lived in Illinois all my life, and I have never felt as uncertain about the future here in Illinois as I do now. Illinois has slipped to the bottom of the barrel when measured against the other states. We have a budget that is sinking in red ink, we have unpaid bills stacked to the ceiling and we continue to borrow and increase our long-term debt.

Our elected politicians in Springfield have put our state in a financial mess, and I think it is time to turn things around. This situation did not just happen overnight. The politicians have increased spending to levels we cannot sustain, and we must cut back.

We have the chance to do that with the coming election. David Harris, the Republican candidate for state representative, has said that spending reductions and fixing our budget mess are his top priorities. That's what I want to hear, and that's why I am going to vote for Harris.
