South Elgin man's death not suspicious

The death of a 59-year-old man Saturday in South Elgin has been ruled to be from natural causes, officials said.

The Kane County Coroner's Office said Monday there were no signs of trauma to Raymond Mueller, who was found in a creek just north of the village's trolley museum on La Fox Street.

The office said the body of Mueller, of the 200 block of South Windsor Court, South Elgin, showed no signs of trauma. Because his death was from natural causes, an inquest will not be held.

Mueller's family reported him missing late Friday night and he was found by family members at about 8:20 a.m. Saturday.

South Elgin Police Sgt. Mike Doty said Mueller was last seen Thursday. Authorities are still asking for people with information about who he was last with to come forward by calling (847) 741-2151.

“The case is pretty much done. There's no foul play. We're trying to help the family with some answers,” Doty said.
