Car flips in Inverness, no occupants found

Inverness police are investigating how an unoccupied car was discovered laying on its roof at the corner of Palatine Road and Highland Avenue at about 3 a.m. early Friday morning.

Ofc. Michael Kirby of the Inverness Police Department said a police officer on patrol discovered the vehicle in a ditch and radioed for assistance.

However, no victims were discovered in the vehicle, Kirby said. He said police and fire officials conducted a search for any victims in the vicinity, but none were discovered.

Kirby said the owner of the vehicle has been contacted, but would not say if he was the driver of the car.

He said the car was towed from the area and the incident remains under investigation.
