Class warfare, plain and simple

I have read several articles in the Fence Post from Democrats who seem to think that the rich in this country are not paying their “fair share” and are somehow morally responsible for helping to paying down the debt of our nation.

These misguided individuals, who seem to think that the Republicans are clearly out to help the rich, while not wanting to help the poor or middle class, is ridiculous. Our financial problems as a nation were created by Congress overspending, not by individuals who pay taxes.

How is it that all of a sudden, the rich are the ones vilified? Because they are an easy target. The tax tables for individuals are graduated based on Americans yearly income, with those making more, paying more in taxes. The rich already pay more that middle income people in taxes, yet the Democrats want them to pay more. This is class warfare, plain and simple.

I've always thought that one of the things that make this country great is the fact that if you work hard, invent something or have an idea and started a company, you're entitled to the fruits of your labor. What right does a government have taking more of your hard-earned income simply because it cannot control its own spending?

The wealthy create jobs and give to charities more than people realize. The Democrats what to take from the rich and give to the poor. This idea of “class warfare” is not a new one. It was tried in the Soviet Union, China and Germany in the 1930s. We all know what the consequences of those actions were. Oh, and by the way, our national debt has increased by $5 trillion since the Democrats took control of the House in 2007 under Nancy Pelosi.
