Fetus found in La Grange Park church

A nonviable fetus was found inside a La Grange Park church Saturday evening, police said.

A clergy member of St. Louise de Marillac Church at 30th Street and Raymond Avenue called police at 5:23 p.m. Saturday after a churchgoer discovered “what appeared to be a fetus,” according to a police statement.

The responding officers found the fetus on the floor near the church's public restrooms, according to police.

The fetus was taken to the Cook County medical examiner's office, which did not issue a death certificate.
