Library thanks you for support
The St. Charles Public Library board would like to express its sincere gratitude to the individuals who supported the referendums through their many contributions of cash, time, facilities, talent and votes. We are especially indebted to the hard working members of the Citizens Committee and their dedicated chairmen, Sue Doebler and Jon Duerr, as well as treasurer Terry Berkhout.
We realize that this is an unprecedented period in our local and national economy. Many who support the library and its significance in the community share our vision but not our timing. We respect their feelings. Many who could not afford the added burden of higher tax right now are those who are most in need of the library's Internet, computer, resume, research and reading resources. The library board is committed to continuing to provide the highest quality of service possible in an environment that is healthy and efficient for our staff, safe and nurturing for our young and warm and welcoming for all. St. Charles is a great community that deserves a great library.
