Carlos & Carlos returns to downtown Arlington Heights

Carlos & Carlos, a Northern Italian restaurant, was welcomed back to downtown Arlington Heights at the village board meeting Monday night.

Mayor Arlene Mulder granted a liquor license to the restaurant, which will open in mid-December in the spot most recently occupied by Pamela's Parkside Grill and before that, Regina's Ristorante, 27 W. Campbell St.

Lunch will be served, at least experimentally, as well as dinner and private parties said Carlos Montiel.

A new feature will be the “pasta show” where pasta is made within sight of diners.

Carlos & Carlos closed its location near the Metropolis Theater at the end of June when its lease expired after six years, said Montiel. This time he has purchased the building where the restaurant will be.

Montiel's company also owns Capriccios in Northfield as well as restaurants in Guatemala City and Costa Rico.
