Arlington Heights celebrates Veterans Day early

Everyone is invited to the Veterans Day celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 10 (the day before Veterans Day), at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, said Greg Padovani, chairman of the Drive to Revive Memorial Park.

The events start at 1 p.m. with a presentation by Honor Flight Chicago, including a veteran telling what the trip to Washington, D.C., meant to him.

At 2 p.m., stories will be told about veterans who have bricks donated in their honor at Memorial Park.

And at 3 p.m., the American Legion Merle Guild Post 208 will show its famous flag ceremony, including the flags of six U.S. military services, with readings and songs.
