Ventas to offer $300 mil. in 5-year notes

Ventas Inc. plans to sell $300 million of five-year notes, according to a person familiar with the offering.

The debt may be sold as soon as today through the real estate investment trust's Ventas Realty LP and Ventas Capital Corp., said the person, who declined to be identified because terms aren't set.

Proceeds may be used to repay a credit line and for working capital and other general corporate purposes, including to fund future acquisitions, the Chicago-based company said today in a statement.
