AU baseball coaches, players to offer annual hitting camp
Aurora University's 19th annual baseball hitting camp for youth ages 8-18 will be Dec. 27-30 in Thornton gym at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place, Aurora.
The schedule includes three sessions: ages 8-10 from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m.; ages 11-13 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; and ages 14-18 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Campers will use the gym, an indoor batting cage and other facilities.
Spartan Athletic Director Mark Walsh directs the camp. His staff includes AU baseball coach Shawn Neitzel, college players and local high school coaches.
Parents, siblings and friends are invited to observe.
“This is a chance for youth to sharpen hitting skills before spring training,” Walsh said. “Drills, exercises and instruction will be included. Quality instruction and an enthusiastic approach to teaching the art of hitting are guaranteed.”
Fees are $85 for the first camper and $75 for each additional sibling. The fee includes instruction, video analysis and a T-shirt.
The deadline to register is Wednesday, Dec. 22. Call (630) 844-6181 or e-mail ndano@aurora.edu.
