Candles start bedroom fire in Hoffman Estates
Unattended candles started a fire in the bedroom of a Hoffman Estates home Saturday afternoon, according to fire officials.
No one was injured during the blaze, which was contained to a single bedroom of a two-story home on the 4100 block of North Firestone Court, according to officials.
The Hoffman Estates Fire Department responded to the home just before noon after residents were alerted by smoke detectors, according to officials.
Three residents were home but evacuated before firefighters arrived.
The fire damaged the bedroom and left the second floor with smoke damages. Investigators estimated the damages at $10,000.
