Need for Stone's recall was obvious
My wife and I moved to Buffalo Grove 39 years ago. We saw B.G. grow from a tiny village to a great town to raise a family.
Because of years of volunteer work, my wife has witnessed the behind the scenes effort of the police and fire departments as well as the village board.
We understand that many would vote against the recall amendment, but we cannot understand how one would take such action without attending a village board meeting or watching it on the government channel.
John Chalberg stated that “Lisa Stone had just upset the good ol' boy network in Buffalo Grove.” If Mr. Chalberg (from Wheeling) had attended a B.G. village board meeting, I would doubt that he would have voted against the recall.
What scares people is when an elected official repeatedly accuses the village board of a lack of transparency. For months Lisa Stone has accused Mr. Hartstein and the members of the board of running a clandestine government. “Every” accusation by Trustee Stone has been proven to be false. Public transparency has always been apparent.
Trustee Stone is upset the way Mr. Hartstein reacted to the recall. We are not defending that reaction, but at every board meeting she has badgered, ridiculed each board member and public officials. Time after time Mr. Hartstein defended her by instructing the audience to be quiet, in spite of her attempt to sabotage the board meetings. With each attack, she was found to be wrong!
Buffalo Grove is a wonderful community because of the honest efforts of our elected officials and community service personnel.
