Stay in minors or get out of the game
Someone needs to let Alexi Giannoulias know that traveling to Greece does not count as foreign policy experience. Neither does loaning money to Iraqi financiers.
The thought of Alexi dealing with Iranian nukes or negotiating trade with China is frightening enough to run for cover. Our nation is facing more challenges every day both at home and abroad and the only candidate qualified to deal with both is Mark Kirk.
He has served at the World Bank, the State Department and on the U.S. House of International Relations Committee, and founded the bipartisan U.S. China Working Group.
Not only has he shown outstanding independent leadership as a five-term Congressman, but these are incredibly impressive foreign policy credentials unmatched by any of his colleagues. Comparing Kirk's experience to Alexi is laughable. Kirk put another point on the board when he recently spoke at Caterpillar headquarters in Peoria about U.S.-China trade relations and accepted CEO Jim Owens' endorsement. This was the speech of a senator. Alexi needs to stay in the minor leagues - or even better - get out of the game.
