More support for troops is needed

We were all relieved to hear that Lt. Matt Spartz of Lombard, a soldier who is writing columns for the Daily Herald from Afghanistan, is on the mend. At the end of Mr. Davis' recent column he wanted readers to consider care packages.

Since April 2003 the Yellow Ribbon Support Group of Palatine has sent 18,178 packages to our men and women on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a not-for-profit group made up of all volunteers. We send basic essentials, food items, letters from schoolchildren and much more. Most of all we send our support.

Please visit our website at yellowribbonsg.org to obtain more information on how people can help our men and women in harm's way. Thank you.
