2 kids taken to hospital after Lombard school bus crash
A school bus carrying two special needs students ran into an asphalt truck Tuesday morning in Lombard, police said.
No one complained of injuries, but the children were taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital as a precaution, Lombard Deputy Chief Dane Cuny said. The driver and one other adult were on board.
The accident occurred about 7:45 a.m. on Roosevelt Road near Main Street, Cuny said, causing minor damage to the bus, including a cracked windshield. The driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, he added.
The bus is a cooperative bus used by various school districts in DuPage County, Cuny said, and is used by students with special needs.
