Big East announces DePaul men's schedule
The 2010-11 Big East men's basketball schedule for DePaul opens on Dec. 28 at Cincinnati for the Blue Demons as the league announced league dates and national TV information on Friday.
DePaul faces West Virginia on Jan. 4 to open the home conference schedule while five conference games will be nationally televised.
DePaul begins conference play with back-to-back road games at Cincinnati and Georgetown. Following the Dec. 28 opener, the Blue Demons face Georgetown on New Year's Day in Washington, D.C. The West Virginia games begins a three-game homestand - DePaul's longest conference homestand of the season - before Seton Hall visits Allstate Arena on Jan. 12 and Connecticut travels to the Midwest on Jan. 15.
The Blue Demons travel to Marquette for an ESPNU-televised game on Jan. 18 and return to Rosemont on Jan. 22 against Pittsburgh. The first month of 2011 concludes at USF on Jan. 27 on ESPNU.
February features eight games and three national TV appearances. The month starts with a Feb. 3 date against Notre Dame that will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2 before a quick turnaround two days later at Louisville.
Cincinnati - one of three Big East home-and-away opponents - makes the return trip to Allstate Arena on Feb. 8 for a 6 p.m. game on ESPN2. On Feb. 12, DePaul plays at West Virginia to complete the two-game season series between the Blue Demons and Mountaineers.
DePaul travels to Providence and plays on ESPN or ESPN2 on Feb. 17 before hosting Villanova on Feb. 19 at Allstate Arena. February finishes with a Feb. 23 game at St. John's and a home game against USF on Feb. 26. The Bulls are DePaul's third home-and-away opponent for the 2010-11 season.
The final two games of the regular season are on Mar. 2 and 5 with the Blue Demons hosting Rutgers before a trip to Syracuse. The BIG EAST Championship returns to Madison Square Garden in New York, Mar. 8-12.
The remaining conference games will be produced by ESPN Regional Television for the Big Easy Network or carried on ESPN3.com. Television information and game times will be announced as it becomes available.
