Clinton ends Cougars' season

CLINTON, Iowa - The Kane County Cougars' 20th season came to a close Monday night when they lost 4-1 to the Clinton LumberKings in Game 3 of the Western Division championship series.

The Cougars had won Game 1 but failed in their quest of a return trip to the league championship series.

Murphy Smith delivered his second quality start of the postseason but suffered his second loss. He gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits with 3 walks and 6 over 6 innings.
