Elginbull; Several shots were fired outside an apartment at about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Watch Court, reports said. No injuries or property damage were reported and no immediate arrests were made, reports said.bull; Marcus D. Harper, 18, of the 500 block of West Highland Avenue, Elgin, was charged with felony criminal damage to property; police said he vandalized a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander van that belongs to the Larkin Center, police said. The incident occurred Aug. 23 and the damage was estimated at more than $300, police said. Police were called to the area after a motion alarm was activated in the kitchen of one of the homes. According to a police report, officers arrived to find several chairs and a watering can knocked over on the front porch, and a window forced open. The burglar alarm had been pulled off the wall and damaged, but nothing else was missing or disturbed, police said. At the other home, police found a basement screen removed and cabinet doors open in several rooms. The owners told police $133,000 in belongings, including jewelry and a paintball gun, had been stolen. bull; Police responded to a boat on fire at 1:45 p.m. Saturday on the 12N100 block of Peplow Road, near Burlington. Police said the owner was charging the battery on his 16-foot 1994 Monarch speed boat in a detached garage when the cable connecting a charger and the battery caught fire. Also damaged were two John Deere tractors and several fishing poles. No injuries were reported. bull; Several tools were reported stolen Saturday from an unlocked Ford 250 on the 08N500 block of Thomas Road, near Hampshire, police said. bull; A Garmin GPS and an iPod were reported stolen Saturday from an unlocked Jeep Wrangler on the 45W900 block of McDonald Road, near Hampshire, police said. bull; A black bag containing several DeWalt tools, including a circular saw, a hammer saw and a right angle drill, were reported stolen Sept. 2 from an unlocked van on the 34W800 block of North James Drive, near St. Charles, police said.
