Lake Villa man denies molestation at party
A Lake Villa man denied Wednesday that he had sex with one of his daughter's girlfriends at a drinking party at his house.
Alexander Lamping, 43, faces a mandatory prison sentence of four to 15 years if convicted of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Steven Derue said Lamping's daughter hosted a party at their house in the 1500 block of Benton Road on the night of May 29.
Many of the teens there consumed alcohol, Derue said, and one 17-year-old girl became extremely intoxicated.
The girl went to an upstairs bedroom, Derue said, and Lamping followed her to the room.
Once there, Lamping made physical advances to the girl and had sex with her while she was in what Derue described as a "semiconscious" condition.
Derue said the girl told family members about the attack a few days later and they went to police.
Associate Judge Theodore Potkonjak scheduled a trial of the case for Oct. 12 and told Lamping, who is free after posting $4,000 for bond, to appear in court Sept. 29.
