Egoistic land grabs weigh on taxpayers

I feel compelled to address this environment of government land grab. Let us focus on the recent dishonorable government handling of Meigs Field. Meigs Field was a well-establish point of air commerce for Chicago. The airport was a unique and attractive destination for all type of commercial, private and corporate involvement. Well, who would want that in Chicago?

Mayor Daley had an agenda for years against this airport as, apparently, there was a lot of political interest in this unique real estate. We can only let our minds race as to the good ol' boy potential for replacing this airport.

Daley was unable to deal with his desire to terminate Meigs legitimately, so he had it plowed under by some of his undercover contractors at midnight. Now, that's taking the bull by the horns!

Now with less commerce, and the loss of a historical functional landmark, we will end up with another wonderful park with flowers, maybe a little casino with a rippling brook and, as always, higher taxes.
