U-46 should change motivation strategy

Elgin Area School District U-46 needs to re-evaluate their strategies in motivating students. Over the past few years our PSAE scores have become lower. If they updated their strategies I believe our students could become better students.

For example, if U-46 can help students academically, I believe it could improve the student's lives as well. When a young person captures the mentality, “I can do anything,” they will act accordingly. I believe a good way to improve motivating students is to implement a program that will work alongside students from a young age until they graduate from college. The best times to influence a passion for learning is when they are the easiest to mold.

I also believe that when students improve academically the crime rates will also be influenced and become lower. Young people these days want to be noticed. They want their voice to be heard and know their opinion matters. They will find a way to get this attention even if it means getting into trouble. If U-46 changes their strategies in motivating students I know our students can become better students.
