Wilmette man charged in murder of his aunt
Authorities in Wilmette say they have charged 24-year-old Anthony Rapoport with murder for allegedly beating his aunt with an aluminum baseball bat.
Police say the fatal beating of 49-year-old Nancee Rapoport occurred Christmas Day, only hours after her nephew was released on bond on an unrelated aggravated assault warrant issued in Skokie.
Wilmette police say they were called to the residence Friday after the aunt and nephew quarreled about donuts he was supposed to buy. They say they arrested the nephew on the outstanding warrant.
Officers say that after Anthony Rapoport was released on bond, he returned home and attacked his aunt. They say he was arrested without incident a short time later and admitted the attack under questioning.
Police did not say whether Anthony Rapoport has an attorney.
