Des Plaines mayor calls businesses to casino meeting

An open letter to Des Plaines business leaders: This is an exciting time for the City of Des Plaines. With the construction of the casino a reality, we are at a very crucial time in the history of our community. We want the casino development to be a positive force for all of us - including you and your business.

For this reason, we have organized a Casino Business Meeting with Midwest Gaming Inc., city officials, and key staff to bring you up-to-date with the casino development, its impact on the city's infrastructure, such as River Road, and what businesses may expect in the future.

You are invited to a 10 a.m. meeting on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, in Room B-C of the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood St. Because seating is limited we request that you RSVP at (847) 827-4966 before Oct. 8.

As a business leader you and your concerns are important to us. There will be time at this meeting for you to ask questions and express your areas of interest. I look forward to seeing you at the meeting and working on the casino project as a team.

Mayor Martin J. Moylan
