Elletts lead Hampshire to 3rd BNC title in a row
It's a three-peat for the Hampshire girls golf team.
Junior Connie Ellett shot a 3-over par 76 for medalist honors and her senior sister Taylor came in at 79 to take second place and lead the Whip-Purs to their third straight Big Northern Conference championship at Timber Pointe in Belvidere.
The Whips shot a 351, a 16-stroke win over second-place Byron (367). Stillman Valley shot an even 400 to take third while Burlington Central was fifth with a 426.
"Taylor and Connie did a real nice job on the back nine," said Hampshire coach Sue Ellett, who also lauded the efforts of Jessie Van Dorin and Grace Jakubowski, who each came in with 98s to finish tied for 11th individually.
Hampshire will compete in the Class AA Prairie Ridge regional at Prairie Isle next Wednesday.
