Letter disrespectful to Republicans
I am saddened that a letter such as Mr. Morgan's ("Here's why people vote Republican," Sept. 18) would be printed. As a conservative who votes mostly Republican, depending on the candidate, I find name-calling such as "Neanderthal having a genetic mutation that shortchanges the brain of dopamine receptors, thereby unable to learn from mistakes" highly insulting. Further, it is unforgivable to those who, by implication, have learning disabilities.
When I moved here two years ago from a small town in Wisconsin I never dreamed that a "neighborhood newspaper" I subscribed to so I could get better acclimated to the area would condone such a disrespectful missive. Thankfully, some of us still care about America enough to turn the other cheek because we are strong enough to stand for the ideals that built this country where people like Mr. Morgan can vent.
