Sox options Torres to Charlotte

Following last night's game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Carlos Torres to Class AAA Charlotte.

Torres, 27, made his season debut last night in game two of a doubleheader against the Tigers, allowing five runs on nine hits over 6.0 IP in a losing effort. He was recalled from Charlotte earlier today.

Torres is 7-7 with a 3.41 ERA (49 ER/129.1 IP), 122 strikeouts and a .222 (103-464) opponents average in 22 games (20 starts) with Charlotte this season.

The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tonight's game at Detroit.
