Bridge to benefit from ladies Million luncheon
A Palatine organization will benefit from the Arlington Million Ladies' ninth annual fundraising luncheon.
The Bridge Youth and Family Services in Palatine, along with the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation, will receive funds from the event.
Traditionally, the luncheon has been a fundraiser for cancer research - this year's theme, in fact, is "Racing for a Cure." But the organization broadened its charitable giving to include the Bridge, which provides counseling, mentoring and education to thousands of families annually.
The event takes place 11:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 19 in the International Room of Arlington Park in Arlington Heights. It includes racing, a cocktail reception, an awards presentation honoring prestigious women in racing emceed by news anchor Ron Magers, silent and live auctions and a fashion show.
Tickets are $125. All attendees are encouraged to wear their best hat in honor of Million Week at the racetrack.
