Judge will not reduce 90-year sentence
BLOOMINGTON -- A McLean County judge has declined to reduce the 90-year prison sentence of a man from Normal who admitted he sexually assaulted one woman and physically assaulted a second during two residential burglaries.
Nineteen-year-old Joseph Primm pleaded guilty in April to sexually assaulting one woman in her apartment in Normal in February 2009 and attacking another woman a week later in a second apartment in north Normal.
Circuit Court Judge Robert Freitag imposed the 90-year sentence on Primm in July.
In denying the sentence reduction on Thursday, Freitag repeated his earlier view that the offenses were extremely violent, severe and abhorrent.
