Let's celebrate progress, not retreat

Between World War II and the 1980s our enemy was foreign in nature. Now our enemies are ourselves. We are pitted against each other. There are the have and the have-nots. It is unfortunate the have-nots are starting to band with the haves because of the race card. I am sorry they want to take our country back, and I ask what do they want to take the country back to? Do they want to take us back to slavery, to women not having the right to vote or to the abuse that was overlooked by the men who were supposed to be superior because they were the bread winners in the 1950s. I for one don't want to go back to that kind of era.

Unfortunately this abuse still goes on in some parts of our country and should not be tolerated. I want a better America for everyone, that is why I voted for Barack Obama and I am happy with the progress we have made.
