Suspect indicted in Chicago cop's murder

The man accused of killing a Chicago police officer with his own weapon has been indicted on 250 felony counts.

Bryant Brewer is charged with the murder of Officer Thor Soderberg, who was disarmed as he preparing to get into his car outside a police station on July 7.

On Thursday, prosecutors say a Cook County grand jury indicted the 24-year-old Brewer on first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, armed robbery, robbery and resisting and disarming a police officer charges.

Cook County state's attorney's spokesman Andy Conklin says Brewer, who was ordered held without bond on July 9, faces arraignment on Aug. 26.
