Quarry Beach inputThe Batavia Park District has one final meeting for residents to discuss what should be done with Hall Quarry Beach. The meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the beach, 400 S. Water St.; if it rains, the meeting will move to the Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St.Live chicken debate continuesShould Batavia residents be allowed to raise chickens in their backyards? The city council is considering changing the law to allow it, and is soliciting comments from residents about the idea. Residents in favor have prepared a PowerPoint presentation that can be viewed at cityofbatavia.net. Comments should be sent to chickens@cityofbatavia.net.Help charity driveBetween Friends Food Pantry of Sugar Grove is having a "Fill the Cart" food drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Jewel Food Store at Route 47 and Galena Boulevard. Volunteers are needed to pass out lists of items needed and collect monetary donations.
