Buffalo Grove man gets probation for abuse

A Buffalo Grove man received 24 months probation Thursday in exchange for pleading guilty to fondling a teenage girl.

As a condition of his plea, Kenneth W. Lundgren, 46, must register as a sex offender for 10 years and can have no contact with the victim or her family, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Mike Gerber.

The plea spares the victim the trauma of having to testify at Lundgren's trial which was to have begun later this month, Gerber said.

The abuse occurred several times between September 2008 and January 2010, authorities said.

The victim's mother said the teenager and her family were satisfied with the sentence. The mother also praised the Buffalo Grove Police Department and social worker Lisa Fowler for their hard work and diligence.
