Mark Kirk only giving rich more money

I'm incredibly disappointed by Congressman Mark Kirk's recent vote against extending unemployment benefits, especially in light of his outspoken support of continuing the Bush tax cuts. Millions of hardworking, middle-class people have been unemployed for a long time. Despite living frugally and constantly looking for work, many of us are scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to our savings.

In this tough economy the government should make helping the jobless a priority, not cutting taxes for the richest 1 percent of all Americans. The fact that Congressman Kirk dares to claim that he voted against extending jobless benefits because of the cost and then wants to spend billions on cutting taxes for the rich is incredibly hypocritical.

It seems that the congressman is preoccupied by how to find more false credentials for himself to peddle to the people than to help them (the unemployed) feed their families at this critical period of our national history. It's heartless and unpatriotic on his part to all of a sudden exercise a fiscal rectitude at the expense of the unemployed.
