Round Lake Beach man pleaded not guilty to drug charge
A Round Lake Beach man pleaded not guilty Thursday in Lake County Circuit Court to possession of nearly an ounce of cocaine. Miguel Montero-Flores faces a mandatory prison sentence of six to 30 years if convicted of possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver.
Assistant State's Attorney George Pappas said Round Lake Beach police served a search warrant on Montero-Flores' residence in the 1200 block of Beverly Drive around midnight July 24. Inside, Pappas said, police found a little more than 17 grams of cocaine in 16 individual bags, an electronic scale and $2,479 in cash. Associate Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Montero-Flores, who is held on $100,000 bond, to appear in court Aug. 24.
