Graffiti pops up in Hanover Park

Hanover Park police are asking residents for help in finding the offenders responsible for numerous recent graffiti incidents in the area of Longmeadow and Walnut streets.

It's believed the graffiti is unrelated to gangs. Police said graffiti is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine up to $2,500, though an offender can be charged with a felony in some cases.

Residents should call 911 when they observe suspicious activity. Anyone with information about the graffiti should call the police at (630) 372-4400.
